Job Summary

  • Scanning of biological tissue material with 20X and 40X magnification

  • Conducts quality review or digital images to ensure image quality

  • Upload digital images in to Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and other Electronic Health Records systems


 • Conducts routine and non-routine analysis of in-process bio-material and final digitized images
 • Collaborate with doctors and pathologist to review protein stains to target specific areas of slide material for case studies
 • Reviews the digital images for quality standards to include clarity, color, and accuracy
 • Performs visual inspections of finished products
 • Prepare biological material for storage in the lab facilities
 • Completes documentation needed to support scanning procedures
 • Complies laboratory data necessary to index and track bio-material with in the laboratory facilities
 • Calibrates, validates, or maintains laboratory equipment
 • Supplies quality control data necessary for research and inventory tracking
 • Ensures that lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained
 • Identifies quality problems and recommends solutions
 • Monitors scanning procedures to ensure that all scans are performed according to established item specifications, standard scanning methods or protocols
 • Identifies and troubleshoots equipment problems
 • Writes technical reports or documentation


Job Qualifications

  • Active DOD Security Clearance

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent military service

  • Experience: 1-2 years of related experience
